Emotional Freedom Technique® |
| The Emotional Freedom Technique®, or EFT, is one of the simplest, yet most effective alternative healing modalities around today—it's also fast becoming one of the most popular. And it's no wonder, since the technique is easy and quick to learn (download a free manual on how to get started at www.emofree.com), there's no special equipment required, and it can be used on yourself, as well as others, for all sorts of issues, whether they be mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual—in fact, the EFT "slogan" is "Try it on everything!" All this makes EFT an ideal tool to have at your disposal during these times of accelerated change and spiritual transformation. The tapping process that is at the foundation of EFT may seem strange at first, but it is actually based on the same principles as the ancient and well- established healing system of acupuncture. In fact, EFT is a lot like needle-less (yeah!)acupuncture, using tapping instead of needles to deal with disruptions in the flow of energy through the body's meridians. To use an analogy for how EFT works, you might think of each person's life energy as a flowing river flowing. The river can be fast and furious, or slow and steady. Most people, when they are younger, have free flowing water/energy in their river, but little by little, as life passes, "rocks" (blockages) begin to form. The rocks can be any size; the smaller rocks formed of school or work difficulties, up to the bigger rocks of serious illness. At first, the river/life energy flows over the rocks, but as they accumulate, it begins to struggle and has to change its course. The water can become stagnant, or muddy or cloudy because of the turbulence; it may even end up out of control and threaten to burst its banks. EFT works to remove the rocks/energy blockages so that life force energy can flow freely once again. It may not happen instantly, and sometimes the biggest rocks may take time to be removed, but removed they are, allowing the "river" to flow as it was meant to be. Brad Yates, author, lecturer, evolution catalyst, and one of the leading teachers and practitioners of EFT, considers the technique to be "acupuncture for the emotions," since it works along the same meridian lines as acupuncture and acts to clear blocks in the energy field that cause negative emotions. He also likens it to dental floss, but calls it "mental floss," because it removes the "gunk" from our thoughts/mind instead of our teeth. Yates points out that the extent to which we are not experiencing what we say we want in our life, is the extent to which we are resisting it, and EFT is great for clearing out that resistance. The resistance is due to limiting thoughts and beliefs that are usually operating at a subconscious level outside our conscious awareness (if you said something like "What, me think that money is bad?" That's crazy!" you might enjoy reading this article), and since around 90% of our behavior is run by our subconscious, that negative programming is what's usually running the show. It leads to *self- sabotage and us never really getting ahead or experiencing the life we desire and deserve. Fortunately, EFT is very effective in addressing and neutralizing limiting beliefs. You just need to be willing to put in the time and effort of tracking down and weeding out the "offenders." You can find out all there is to know about EFT at the official website www. emofree.com. And if one of your goals is to experience more wealth and abundance in your life, be sure to check out Brad's program called Money Beyond Belief, where EFT is specifically used to clear away blockages and beliefs standing in the way of realizing the abundance you deserve. There's also the wonderful (really!) EFT World Summit audios and materials and the site TryItOnEverything.com,that's connected with the documentary on EFT of the same name. Other websites you may want to visit are www.mygenie.tv, which focuses on using EFT for self-empowerment, and www.tapping.com, which offers some free guided EFT routines. And if you would like information about scheduling an EFT session with Zirah at All One, please e-mail info@allonetogether.com. *From Brad's perspective self-sabotage is really just mis-guided attempts at self- love. For example, when the subconscious holds the dysfunctional belief that having a lot of money would somehow be bad for you, it causes you to behave in ways that work to sabotage any conscious efforts you make to get ahead financially. It sees this as a way to help insure your safety. |
