Vitamin C As A Natural Sunscreen: You can add "sunscreen-ability" to your C
Green Tea Booster: By now just about everyone has heard that drinking green tea is good for your health because of the antioxidants it contains. However, the free-radical fighters in the tea often never end up making it to your bloodstream. That's because catechins--the antioxidants in the tea famous for lowering your risk of chronic disease--quickly lose their power in your intestine. In fact, as much as 80% of the catechins are never absorbed.
The solution to boosting absorption, researchers recently found, is as simple as flavoring your tea with freshly squeezed and strained lemon, orange, lime, or grapefruit juice. The vitamin C in citrus may help with absorption by increasing the acidity in your small intestine. Other unidentified substances in the juice probably lend a hand, too. Researchers found a 50-50 mix had the greatest catechin-preserving effect, and lemon did it best, closely followed by orange, lime, and, in last place, grapefruit.
Some of the benefits of adding green tea to your diet are:
It may help you lose weight. At least one study shows green tea can stimulate moderate weight loss.
It may help keep your knees young and strong -- catechins fight inflammation and arthritis.
It can help your skin look great if used in conjunction with an antioxidant cream. Dab it on.
It can help you stay sharp -- try 2 cups a day to see benefits.
But be sure when you brew your tea that you do NOT use boiling water because it damages the tender leaves and destroys some of the antioxidants that are present. So always use water that is below the boiling point. Also, they're finding that white tea, which is even less processed than the green, may be an even healthier beverage choice.

Turmeric: If you eat curry, make it yellow. Research shows that turmeric—a yellow-orange spice in yellow curried Indian & Asian food—might help prevent and disintegrate plaque in the brain. The plaque is a hallmark of Alzheimer's, with its accompanying dementia & memory loss. It's also been shown to help with diabetes. Turmeric's active ingredient is curcumin, shown in lab & animal tests to be anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and immunity boosting.

What To Do If You Believe Someone is Having a Stroke: A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized and diagnosed, and the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is often tough.
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness can spell disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms. Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking the person to do four simple things (just remember "STRS"):
S - Ask the individual to SMILE.
T - Tell the person to TALK and SPEAK (coherently) A SIMPLE SENTENCE (i.e. It is sunny out today)
R - Tell the person to RAISE BOTH ARMS.
S -Ask them to STICK OUT THEIR TONGUE. If the tongue is crooked or goes to one side or the other this could be a sign of a stroke.
If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.
