Well, folks, it's a sad time again around the All One office. Before we'd
really had a chance to get over losing President & CEO Mickey, another
of the crew, Karma, who was head of Customer Service, went on to join
him at that big catnip heaven in the sky.  In fact, if there had been some
measure of affection between the two, you would almost think she must
have decided life wasn't worth living without Mickey. But, unfortunately,
there was no love lost there, so it must have simply been a case of
Karma's karma coming due.

They say that the squeaky wheel always gets the grease, and Karma
was certainly one of the squeakiest around. But in all fairness to her, she
was born into a physical body that certainly had its challenges. And
being the smallest of the group here, she got picked on to the point
where she thought she was being threatened, even when it was all in her
mind. So you have to cut her some slack.

And she had beautiful golden eyes, a prissy little pigeon-toed walk when
viewed from behind, and a way of keeping things interesting. Even
Hunky, Karma's sworn enemy & nemesis, probably misses having
someone to pounce on in route to the ladies' powder room. It certainly
hasn't helped that
Hunky has, by default, now moved into the
low-man-on-the-totem-pole spot.
Plus, you'd think without Karma's whining that it would seem more peaceful
around here, but it actually seems
too quiet now. And evening treat time
just isn't the same; Karma never ate much regular food, but she
did love
her treats. In fact, she was so addicted that at times she would recklessly
try to snatch some from Mickey, who probably out-weighed her by a good
20 lbs. or more.

For now, each of the remaining staff has been coping with the loss in their
own ways. It was agreed that, since one of Karma's favorite things was to
drink from the toilet bowl (isn't that the case with all heads of Customer
Service??), the lid should remain up for an indefinite period of time in her
honor—sort of like flying a flag at half-mast in recognition of a fallen
comrade. And Little Boy, Boo, and Hunky have been trying to keep the
mood in the office as upbeat as possible by finding humor wherever they
can. If you want to see what's helped to lift their spirits lately, click
